The Melvins show tonight at the Annandale Hotel with Nunchukka Superfly has now sold out. If you were unfortunate enough not to score a ticket that’s too bad, it’s going to be an awesome show (hopefully). The good news is if you still want to catch Nunchukka Superfly, you can see them at a free in-store on the 23rd of January at the wonderful store Repressed Records located at Newtown. What’s the point not selling out and not telling anybody? Retail isn’t the place for tongue biting nobility. A rep guy offered us $3000 a year to sell cigarettes in the store, a perfect fit as ciggies alone are responsible for making rock cool and the beat generation. Apart from looking pathetically desperate, I can’t imagine it will be the Keith Richards of the world coming to buy a pack.
“3 grand!” I chortled, “we clear that in an hour pal. Ten grand and a thousand dollar bonus for each teen we turn onto smoking that in the future gets lung cancer or a leg amputated”.
For our next in-store, we are counting on a label called We Empty Rooms to help close that $3000 budget shortfall.. The awesomely titled Fangs of Satanic Soccer Mums feature members of FIre Witch and Inappropriate Tough Guy Behaviour and they will be playing with Nunchukkah Superfly, featuring Ray and Blackie from The Hard Ons in more psychedelic mode.
